Scotts Lawn Products

On 3-15-98 I wrote the following letter to Scotts Lawn Products:

Just bought the Broadcast Tractor Spreader today and put it together. Then after spreading 3 bags of your 5% diazinon ($11.88/bag), the two 1.5 inch hex bolts that hold the hitch arms to the tractor U-frame with axle bearing housing sheared off right at the heads.

I lost half a bag of insecticide on the ground by the time I noticed this thing was dragging behind me. I was lucky enough to find the two bolts and one of the hex heads in the grass before I did some damage to my mower.

I bought the best spreader I could find because I didn't want these kinds of problems, only to discover that the hardware you provide is soft as lead. How do you justify this? I was lucky enough to have had two REAL bolts laying around that I attached so I could finish spreading the remnants of my insecticide that I scraped up off the ground. I'm just wondering when the rest of the bolts will fail.

Two days later I got:
