Motel 6 Stinks!
We recently (July 30th, 1998) had the awful experience of staying at the Motel 6 in Green Bay, WI. After attending a baseball game and getting in late, opened the bedsheets to find DOG HAIR and filthy pillowcases! When I called the staff, they didn't have enough people on duty to leave the front desk to bring clean sheets to our room. I picked up the sheets from the front desk, made the beds, and left a message for the Manager that I would be in first thing in the morning to "discuss" this problem. When I went to see the Manager in the morning, she was waiting for me with a $10.00 credit for my trouble!! I nearly hit the roof!! Not only were they filthy dirty - - but I had to change them myself!! She was most rude, coming up with all kinds of excuses, and finally questioned whether I was even telling the truth about the dog hair to begin with! I proceeded to get the dirty sheets from our room and bring them down to the front desk for all to see, explaining that my son is allergic to dog hair and could have easily wound up in the ER, thanks to their lousy service! After much deliberation, she began to write out one of their ever so thoughtful Gift Certificates for a free night! I almost lost it!! I told her we had no intention of every spending another night in a Motel 6 and therefore the gift certificate was useless. I told her I wanted credit for the night we HAD stayed there already. She was anything but professional, didn't even attempt to apologize, and tried to make me feel like I was being unrealistic in my expectations. After much complaining, I eventually received a full credit for the night we spent at that dump. Our whole family said, . . ."MOTEL 6, TURN THE LIGHT OFF. WE'RE NOT COMING BACK!!"
