Motel 6 Stinks!--UPDATE!!
On July 31, 1998 I had occasion to use my guest certificate for the free night's stay at Motel Sucks. This time it was in Lufkin, Tx. I had to visit my cousin there and did not want to impose on his family, so I figured I couldn't lose with the complimentary night, and what the hell, I could cost Motel Sucks some money in the process, as well as add the experience to my web page.
This time the air conditioning worked quite well and the TV appeared to be brand new. I guess this is what Tom Bodett refers to when he speaks of all the extensive remodelling that's been going on.
But you had to get in bed and go to the bathroom with your shoes on so you wouldn't have to let your feet touch the nasty, greasy carpet. The experience was a lot better this time but it is still a pretty disgusting place. I have stayed in $15 motel rooms before that were not as bad. Still, not too bad this time since it was free...
