Motel 6 Stinks!

Dear Mad,
We had a similar situation in Mesa Arizona early in June. We made
reservations for a room in the Mesa North Motel six directly across from
sunsplash waterpark. After checking in, we parked and walked to our room,
passing three drunks, two prostitutes and a drug addict on the way. This was
only about 10 doors in by the way. Upon opening the door we found that the
room was slightly larger than your average bathroom, with two twin beds, an
ancient television and a bathroom that you practically had to straddle the
toilet when you sat down. Not only that, the air didn't work and there were
cockroaches all over.
We went back to the office about 15 minutes after check in to tell them that we didn't want the room. Now, mind you we had paid $210.00 for three nights. The receptionist was in the process of dropping cash into the safe, I told her wait to drop that, we don't want to stay here. She of course continued what she was doing and dropped the money. I then told her we wanted our money back, to which she replied. I don't have enough money to give you, I only have about 50 bucks in the till. I said, that's why I told you NOT to drop the money. She then called the manager to get us our money, and he told her it was his night off , but the other manager was on the premises. She then called the other manager who told her she would be on duty at 10:00pm. Mind you, this was about 8:00pm. I said, so we have to wait for 2 hours? She can't just come get the money? The girl said that was impossible, I said call her back, she said, no, I said gimme the number and I will call her back... the girl said NO I can't, I said do I have to call the police to get my money? The girl said, I don't care what you do, but you can't have your money till she comes on duty. So much for how they treat their customers. I will NEVER stay there again
Well, we of course bowed to the bigger business and came back at 10 where the manager hid in the back, and had a security guard waiting for us to return. The clerk gave us our money and then left.
