I'm not done with this...so please don't put it on your site yet... I will
finish this when I get off work tonight...besides this situation is still
going on ok...I made the reservation for the guest last night... I can send
you proof of that confirmation as well...
Thx ok... [I never heard
any more from her]
I don't even know where to begin. I am very sorry about the things that have
happen to many people during their stay at Motel 6, but I have to
say.... I believe every word of it.
I am not an unhappy employee or any of that... I like my Manager (even
though she is not fair all the time) and I get along with all my co-workers
and the guests. My writing to you is because an incident happened at my
hotel and I don't ever want it to happen again to anyone.
My Manager, who is a usually very reasonable, will take in a homeless
family, give them a gift certificate and keep them for sometimes as long as
a
weekend. However, there is this one family in particular. They are very
nice, quiet and don't hang around on the grounds, even their children are
sweet. I don't know if my Manager doesn't like them or what the problem
is... but the point is... it's clear that they are homeless and they need a
break.
When they came, they were under the internet rate $32.39 plus taxes per
night. Now over 30 days later, my manager takes them off the internet rate
and puts them at the regular rack rate of 35.99 plus taxes. In all
actuality, anytime after 7 days you are to be placed on what we called a
7day
rate... which is somewhat a discount... she wouldn't even allow them
that...she said...Corporate said you have to pay 7 days up front in order to
get a 7 day rate... that is not true because we had another homeless family
that recently were able to move in their own home after a year of living at
Motel 6 (God Bless Them)....and they were paying the 7 day rate and would
only pay one day at a time. (Yes, for a year they were coming to the lobby
to pay for one night at a time...daily).
Back to the incident. I saw the guest in a restaurant where she is a
waitress (which explains why her money is sticky and ketchup is all over it,
etc. She asked me why the manager doesn't like her and why does her rate
keep changing, etc. After talking to her, I assured her once I got home, I
would get online and make a reservation for her (which is how I saw your
site) to get the internet rate back. I even guaranteed it with my credit
card. To my amazement, the next day, I called the front desk and asked my
co-worker was everything ok with that particular room...had she come down
and paid yet? She said there is a note on the system that... that particular
room would not be allow an internet rate ...ever...and if it happens again
...the GSR would be written up. I was very upset to hear this so I asked to
put my manager on the phone so that I could tell her that I made that
reservation for that family and I wanted to know why it wasn't honored.
