I purchased this "high end" cd burner
from office depot as a gift for my brother. I
regretted it immediately. I have a whole drawer
full of "coasters"trying to trouble
shoot this lousy piece of junk. I was tutoring my
brother over the phone long distance. I would
hate to add up the phone calls Ihave spent trying
to troubleshoot his problems with this unit. We
both assumed his system just could not handle the
numerous problems we experienced. We even
purchased outside software to avoid the piece of
crap they include with the unit. My brother
finally bought a brand new computer system that
came with a burner but not as fast as the memorex
was "supposed to be" (4x write and 2
rewrite) so he swapped the units. Guess what? The
memorex locked up his new computer and the new
burner worked great in his old machine.
I made one attempt with their "tech
line" what a joke. The dumb ass on the phone
was the poorest excuse for tech support I have
yet to experience, it was obvious his job was to
just stall you until the warranty ran out. So now
it sits on my counter with a sign for all my
customers to see "memorex not only makes
inferior media (blank cdr's) but hardware as
well.
